Stillwater, Oklahoma 4-piece The All-American Rejects released “Flagpole Sitta” and accompanying video on September 20th. The Harvey Danger cover song came to fruition when AAR started touring last summer for the first time in over a decade. “This naturally led to many late-night bus hangs in the front lounge,” says the band. “We’ve always felt that if an idea survives a hangover, then it’s probably a good one. ‘Flagpole Sitta’ was such an idea, born of a late-night, post-show, adrenaline-fueled drive,. We recorded it because we wanted to see how it would fall out of us on the floor – either like a hot bag of shit, or a vibe. It was also a good excuse to see if the 4 of us could stand each other for a week in the studio after 7 years of silence. Turns out it was alright. As for what’s coming after it, we will leave that up to the divine feminine. If she wants it, she’ll get it.” The band’s first breakthrough singles include “Swing, Swing,” “Dirty Little Secret,” “Move Along,” and “Gives You Hell.” AAR will be playing Oceans Calling Festival on September 27 and make a return to When We Were Young Festival on October 19-20.
