1. Please introduce yourself and give us the backstory on how the band got started.
I’m Wes, the singer of BCMB. The band wouldn’t exist without serendipity. I’m the only band member not from Chicago and I could’ve never predicted how important Chicago would be in my life and this story of this band. The first person I met in Chicago was a mutual friend of our guitarist Jack. He introduced me to both Jack and our other guitarist Trevor so that laid the ground work for what we have. I met Jeremy (drums) next who introduced me to Devin (bass).
2.How would you describe your music?
The means of communication for those things hard for me to say authentically.
3. Who are your biggest influences?
These questions are usually difficult to answer, it’s hard to name the biggest influences of one’s life. There is a long list of creatives who’ve inspired me aside from people I’ve encountered. A few I’ve never mentioned before: T-rex , Dead or Alive, Marlon Brando, The Strokes, OMITD, River Phoenix, Misfits, Roxy Music, The Walker Brothers, Interpol, The Cranberries. These are all creatives who I quite enjoy.
4. What was the inspiration behind your current single?
A lot of disconnected thoughts about ego, self worth, lust and the desire to feel something.
5. What would surprise people most about you?
I’m really into 80’s/90’s horror movies as well as the macabre side of pop culture. There is a great book called, Hollywood Babylon that’s got all of these strange and interesting stories of Hollywood’s dark side. I recommend it.
