WKQX (Q101)/Chicago Launches Four Q101 Podcasts
Cumulus/Chicago launched a new podcast platform today called Q101 Podcasts, featuring four podcasts produced by WKQX (Q101)/Chicago. The new Q101 podcasts: “The Brian and Kenzie Podcast,” “The ROMANce Podcast,” “A Case For…,” and “Car Con Carne” are available on demand now at Q101.com.
“The Brian and Kenzie Podcast” reimagines the idea of repurposed morning show audio for podcast and features Q101 morning hosts, Brian and Kenzie. The podcast version of the popular morning show focuses on providing listeners with exclusive content, uncensored interviews and comedy segments, and content produced solely for inclusion in “The Brian and Kenzie Podcast.”
“The ROMANce Podcast” is a new podcast starring Kenzie K of “The Brian and Kenzie Show,” along with her husband, Chicago media personality Justin Roman. Soon to welcome their new child, Kenzie and Roman will let Q101 fans into their lives as they navigate the ups and downs of modern relationships and parenthood in an honest and hilarious way as only they can.
“A Case For…” is a new podcast starring Case the Producer of “The Brian and Kenzie Show” as he “makes a case for” new artists and entertainers that get listeners ahead of the curve before they become household names.
“Car Con Carne,” an established mainstay of the Chicago podcast scene, comes to Q101 with host James VanOsdol in a homecoming of sorts, as he helped usher Q101 to its iconic status in Chicago. He now talks to artists from all walks of life and brings his entertaining depth of knowledge to Q101 podcasts.
Q101 PD James Kurdziel said, “Q101 is a Chicago icon and adding an offering of new podcasts allows us to extend the reach of our brand even deeper into the fabric of Chicagoland.”
Kenzie and Roman commented, “We couldn’t be more excited to partner with Cumulus to launch a project that we’re so passionate about: The ROMANce Podcast! This will truly be a behind-the-scenes look at not only our relationship, but so many others – all in a fun and entertaining way!”
James VanOsdol remarked, “I started, grew and defined my radio career at Q101, and the station is deeply embedded in my DNA. Now that I’m doing radio in my car, which isn’t as depressing as it sounds, I’m thrilled and honored to partner with Q101.”
Case Lowe added, “I find myself inundated with comments from listeners when music festival posters flood their social media feeds about how they don’t recognize any of the bands anymore. I feel a sense of purpose to let those people know that good music didn’t cease to exist when MTV stopped playing videos. With all the noise in the world, I hope that A Case For… can act as your unquestionable seal of approval for what’s next in the world of Alternative.”
