April 17th, 2024

Happy Wednesday! Your Alternative New Artist Discovery Of The Week is Dead Pony. I just caught up with lead singer Anna Shield from the Glasgow, Scotland 4-piece. The band’s new single is “Rainbows” and it’s from their debut album, IGNORE THIS, released on April 5th on LAB Records/Music Is Fun via In2une Music. Today you get VIP Access to Dead Pony.

Can’t ignore the ratings at KTBZ (94-5 The Buzz)/Houston! The station just posted a 5.1-5.5 increase in the Nielsen March 2024 PPM 6+ Ratings. PD Elliott Wood says, “Since January new music from core ALT artists and exciting new artists are getting people to listen and now paying off for ALT radio. Cume Person numbers are outpacing 2023, and I am seeing both February and March 2024 numbers higher than any individual month in 2023. In Houston, The Buzz is up MTM and YTY P18-49 #1 8.3 and P25-54. ALT Rock Radio is alive and well!”

More great ratings news! WDZH (ALT 98.7)/Detroit leaps 3.7-4.2 6+. Audacy RVP/Alternative Programming Christine Malovetz says, “ALT 98.7 hit all-time highs in P 18-49 and P 25-54 since our launch in November of 2020 – including a top 5 P 18-49 finish in morning drive with our hometown star The Julia Show! I’m incredibly proud of the hard work, passion and dedication the whole Detroit team displays every single day.”

More Alternative ratings love to share: WWDC (DC101)/Washington, DC continues to post up 3.7-3.8 and KTCL (Channel 93.3)/Denver is up again 5.5-5.7. Huge congrats to all our ratings winners!
