New Music Friday #Happens With Judah & The Lion

Nashville’s Judah & The Lion released their fifth album, The Process, today via Cletus The Van/Downtown Artist & Label Services..The 19 song collection includes the lead single “Long Dark Night” currently Top 35 on the Alternative chart. The band pre-released the following five songs: “Floating In The Night,” “Great Decisions.” “Is What It Is,” “Leave It Better Than You Found It,” and “Song Of A Gun (f/K.Flay).” The new material overall has racked up over 10 million combined global streams to date.

The album draws inspiration from lead singer Judah Akers personal experiences and struggles. Born from the depths of emotional turmoil, the album draws parallels to psychiatrist Elisabeth Kübler-Ross; five stages of grief: Denial, Anger, Bargaining, Depression, and Acceptance. Interludes punctuate song suites dedicated to each stage, creating a deeply introspective and cathartic musical experience.

Judah says, “Drawing from the timeless wisdom of the Kübler-Ross stages of grief, originally introduced in the 1960s, The Process guides listeners through the transformative process of navigating loss – in both healthy and unhealthy ways ;). The single, “Long Dark Night,” explores the paradoxical nature of life –  pain can turn to hope and light can come from the depths of darkness.”

The duo that make up Judah & The Lion consists of Judah Akers (vocals/guitar) and Brian MacDonald (mandolin/vocals). Judah & The Lion’s previous four full-length albums are Revival (2022), Pep Talks (2019), Folk Hop N’ Roll (2016), and Kids These Days (2014). The band’s breakout singles “Take It All Back” and “Suit And Jacket” were part of the 2016 release.

Since their 2012 debut EP, Judah & The Lion have received Platinum/Gold certifications, amassed over one billion career streams and sold over 500 million tickets. Six of their singles have gone Top 15 on Alternative Radio

Judah & The Lion currently are on a spring tour and just recently announced fall dates for The Process Tour. Find the tour dates HERE.
