Happy Wednesday! Your Happens.vip Alternative New Artist Discovery Of The Week is Culture Wars.
The band’s new single “Heaven” is at Alternative Radio now. Today you get VIP Access with lead singer Alex Dugan.
The Offspring “Make It All Right” made it to #1 Most Added this week. Congrats to Angelo Scrobe, Elias Chios & the Concord team. It’s the lead single from their 11th album, SUPERCHARGED, which will drop on October 11th. The Offspring’s Dexter Holland said: “We wanted this record to have pure energy – from the start to the finish! That’s why we called it SUPERCHARGED. From the height of our aspirations to the depths of our struggles, we talk about it all on this record…in a way that celebrates the life that we share and where we are now.”
Ratings Love! Nielsen May ‘24 PPM Ratings are being released this week and here’s some of the 6+ highlights. In Los Angeles, KROQ is up 2.5-2.8 and KYSR (ALT 98.7) rises 2.4-2.5. WWDC (DC101)/Washington gains again 4.0-4.3, KDKB (ALT AZ 93.3)/Phoenix jumps 3.6-4.2, and KPNT (105.7 The Point)/St. Louis leaps 5.8-6.6. Good times!
Let’s take a deeper dive inside the numbers:
Lisa Worden, ALT 98.7 PD and iHeartMedia SVP Rock & Alternative tells me, “The station is Top 10 all major demos and The Woody Show is Top 5 all major demos. Notably with Women 18-34 Woody is 2nd, Booker & Stryker are 4th and the station is 6th. In the crowded and competitive marketplace that LA is – not a bad place to be.”
Dustin Matthews, DC101 PD shares, “Great month of May for DC101! Overall we are #3 Persons 18-49 and #5 Persons 25-54 while #1 in both demos with Men. Elliot is #1 across the board in morning drive!”
Tommy Mattern, 105.7 The Point OM points out: “KPNT is #1 with Persons 25-54, Men 25-54, Persons 18-49, Men 18-49. Rizzuto Show is #1 with Persons 25-54 with a 16.9 share – number two show has an 8.9, Men 25-54 with a 22.8 share, Persons 18-49, Men 18-49, Persons 18-34, and Men 18-34.”
David Moore, Alt AZ 93.3 OM says, “Alt AZ has been on a great run of ratings over the last year or so. Mornings with Izzy landed in first or second place in the key demos, pretty much the same story for Mo on middays, Dustin in the afternoon and Nighttime Rob. Being live and local all day with lots of IRL and social interaction, in combination with solid programming and well-executed promotions, have turned Alt AZ into a ratings leader in the Valley. First 18-34 persons, second 18-49 persons and tied for third 25-54 persons makes for a good May.”
