1. Please introduce yourself and give us the backstory on how the band got started.
Hello! Teenage Dads is Connor, Jordy, Vinnie and Angus from Melbourne, Australia. We are all friends from school and the band came together to fill our free study periods. We played covers and house parties for the first year or so until we eventually began writing our own songs and learning to produce at home. Then we just toured like crazy.
2. How would you describe your music?
The kind of music that can make you want to dance, but also sit back and reflect on the feelings and experiences of youth.
3. Who are your biggest influences?
The Strokes, Phoenix but we all draw from different artists we love.
4. What was the inspiration behind your current single?
Boyfriend is a triumphant song that almost acts as the result of Live Until You Die: you’ve come to terms with what you can’t control and you’re finally opening your lungs and singing.
5. What would surprise people most about you?
We aren’t actually Dads.
