Digio Strategies Blues WHJT-HD2-W225BK/Jackson, MS has flipped to Alternative as “Rock 93.1” under Brand Manager Jay Michaels, who joined the cluster in May 2024 to oversee Top 40 WYOY (Y101) and AC WJKK (Mix 98.7). The longtime programmer previously programmed Alternative KDGE (The Edge)/Dallas and WROX (96X)/Norfolk. 

Michaels said, “To have the opportunity to launch the very first Rock/Alternative station in Jackson is such a huge game-changer, as we bring back iconic artists like Weezer, Linkin Park, Nirvana, Cranberries, and blink-182, plus new rock from Shinedown, Noah Kahan, Twenty One Pilots and more!”

Rock 93.1 launches with 5,000 songs in a row. Michaels adds, “The support from owner Clay Holladay, Market Manager Kelly Crocker and Operations Manager Jan Michaels and the team has been incredible. We are locally owned and programmed with all the media tools, air talent, and work environment to have a wildly successful station.”
