ALTERNATIVE NEW MUSIC DISCOVERY

Local H “Everyone Alive – 2024 Remaster” (Brutal Panda)

Listen & Download HERE

Chicago duo Local H released a remastered version of “Everyone Alive” on October 9th. It’s from the band’s Deluxe 20th Anniversary of Whatever Happened to P.J. Soles? that was released on September 13th.

The remastered collection is available on vinyl for the first time ever and the single is featured in the band’s upcoming movie, Lifers. The band’s fifth studio album was originally released in 2004 and saw Local H move further away from the mainstream into cult status (like the album title’s namesake) with the release of their first truly independent full-length.

Local H frontman Scott Lucas said, “I think it’s the best record we ever made.”

Since the band’s formation in 1990, Local H have released 8 studio albums, countless EPs and live records, a well-received series of “Mix Tapes” featuring a mix of cover songs and singles that include “Eddie Vedder,” “Hands On The Bible,” “California Songs,” and the band’s breakthrough single “Bound For The Floor.” Local H’s latest tour Whatever Happened to P.J. Soles? takes them back home to Chicago for the premiere of Lifers: A Local H Movie on October 15th with a show the next night at The Metro. Check out the trailer HERE. Find the tour dates HERE

King Falcon “crushcrushcrush” (Mascot)

Listen & Download HERE

As the one-year anniversary of their self-titled Mascot Records debut approaches, New York rockers King Falcon are releasing their first piece of new music from their upcoming 2025 release.

The quartet comprised of Michael Rubin [vocals, lead guitar], Joe Conserva [bass], Justin Kosisky [guitar], and Dipayan “Dip” Chakraborty [drums] are back with a cover of Paramore’s classic single “crushcrushcrush.”

The song comes from Paramore’s 3x Platinum-certified sophomore album Riot! The King Falcon reimagined version keeps the feel of the original while adding their own style and musical expression. The band’s version is more guitar-driven than the 2007 original and offers a completely different feel thanks to Rubin’s vocals. The song showcases the sound that has helped King Falcon develop a loyal fanbase that they will continue to build upon with this release and the 2025 album.

King Falcon have fall tour dates with additional tour dates beginning in January 2025. Find the tour dates HERE.
