Happy Wednesday! This week’s Alternative Artist Discovery is Bad Suns. The L.A. 3-piece released their new single “Communicating” on January 30th. Lead singer Christo Bowman says, “The idea for ‘Communicating’ was sparked on a drive to the studio one morning. It had been a cold and rainy couple of weeks in February. Days away from leaving on a trip to Tokyo, I had been listening to a lot of Japanese City Pop in my car. That morning, the clouds had vanished and the sun was shining. I was driving through Hollywood, palm trees all around me; it struck me as a quintessentially Southern Californian moment. I wanted to write a song which captured the essence of what I was experiencing right then and there, as I was suddenly aware of being at the beginning of a new and important chapter in my life. My fiancé and I had just celebrated the 12 year anniversary of our first date, the day before, and we were now in the midst of planning our wedding. Lyrically, I was inspired to reflect and sift through my memories of our earliest times together, back when we couldn’t have possibly predicted what the future held in store for us.” Bad Suns has tour dates with Finneas beginning February 13th.
