Mumford & Sons Share Second Song From Rushmere Album
Mumford & Sons share a second song “Malibu” from their forthcoming fifth album, Rushmere, due on March 28th via Glassnote. The band’s current lead single “Rushmere” is Top 10 at Alternative and #1 at Triple A.
“Malibu” has a slow, multi-layered build with the swell of instruments in its eventual crescendo. Check out the lyric video HERE.
Marcus Mumford says, “‘Malibu’ was the first song we wrote when we got back together in Los Angeles in January 2023. The song just felt like us, and the process of recording it with Dave [Cobb] captured it on record in a way that made us feel it had to open RUSHMERE. We love it.”
The track follows last week’s intimate global club tour that kicks off in Amsterdam on March 5th and concludes at Brooklyn’s Paramount on March 26th. The 9-date run sold out in less than an hour.
Last weekend, Mumford & Sons were one of the special guests at SNL50: The Homecoming Concert at New York’s Radio City, performing “I Will Wait” and a cover of “The Boxer (with Jerry Douglas)” by Simon & Garfunkel. The band also rocked up to Houston Hall to play a last-minute surprise “pop up” set.
