L.A.’s Jakobs Castle released a reimagined version of “Garden Grove” on April 18th. Jakob Nowell’s cover of his father’s classic is from a compilation titled Look At All The Love We Found: A Tribute to Sublime that will be out on May 9th via Sublime’s new label Sublime Recordings in collaboration with Jakob Nowell’s SVNBVRNT Records.
Jakob Nowell said, “Sublime is and always has been a family first and foremost. The loss of my father was a devastating event to many and was only outweighed by the outpouring of love from the numerous musicians who’s lives and craft were affected by the work of Sublime. All the love that we collectively have found along this crazy journey is spelled out on every track of this tribute record.”
Sublime/Jakob Nowell will takeover Skratch N’ Sniff radio show for a 2-hour special, “Sublime 4-20 Smokeout” during 4/20 weekend with an intro to “Garden Grove” and more.
The new collection features over 30 artists reimagining classic Sublime tracks including the Zac Brown Band (“Wrong Way”), Pennywise (“Same In The End”) and Jack Johnson (“Badfish”), in addition to 8 previously unreleased tracks. It marks the 20th Anniversary of the original 2005 tribute album Look At All The Love We Found (Cornerstone R.A.S.).
