Hall Communications Alternative WBTZ (99.9 The Buzz)/Burlington, VT has hired Ross Mahoney to host the station’s weeknight new music discovery show, Alternative Soundcheck from 7pm-10pm. Mahoney replaces Sam Lacey, who is relocating out of state for a job outside of radio.

WBTZ PD Kevin Mays said, “We’re pumped to welcome Ross Mahoney to the Buzz Crew! Ross is bringing his passion for new music, alt-rock knowledge, and positive energy to Alternative Soundcheck every night on The Buzz.”

Mahoney said, “While I’m still looking for my next opportunity to get back into programming, Kevin Mays offered me the chance to join the Buzz Crew and host Alternative Soundcheck. I’ve been having fun just getting to be a jock. Being on the air again has helped me remember why I fell in love with radio in the first place.
