Wednesday Alternative Artist Discovery #Happens
Happy Wednesday! This week’s #HAPPENS Alternative Artist Discovery is Nation of Language. “One day sitting in the car the song ‘Electricity’ by OMD came on and rearranged my brain a bit,” says Ian Richard Devaney of Nation of Language. “I was struck by how a band could make synthesizer-based music in a way that felt just as raw and urgent and unpolished as the punk-leaning things I’d become so enamored with as a teenager. It bridged my music taste at the time with what I was hearing as a child and suddenly something clicked. That’s the spark from which NoL was then born.” “Inept Apollo” is the lead single from the band’s upcoming album, Dance Called Memory, which will be out on September 19th. Nation of Language will support Death Cab For Cutie on their 20th Anniversary Tour. Big thanks to Scott Perlewitz at Sub Pop for VIP Access.
