1. Please introduce yourself and give us the backstory on how you got started.
I’m Jutes. I started making music in my dorm room in college when I realized I was wasting my time in the wrong program. Very quickly I fell in love and dropped out to pursue it full time.
2. How would you describe your music?
I make alternative rock and I’d say my music is dark, heavy and emotional. It’s also fueled by nostalgia, trying to bring back influences from when I was a kid in the late 90s/early 2000s.
3. Who are your biggest influences?
Deftones, Smashing Pumpkins, Radiohead, The Neighbourhood, Kid Cudi.
4. What was the inspiration behind your current single?
I wanted to make something that felt like two worlds colliding. Something that had some bounce to it but was haunting and beautiful at the same time.
5. What would surprise people most about you?
I grew up on a farm in Canada and we had horses, goats, llamas, emus and chickens all of which (except for the horses) just roamed around the property freely.
