Hi, we’re Mica and Matthew. We started making music together when we were in high school. We met at an after school music program where at first we covered rock songs and then started writing our own music! We got really into writing and eventually production and recording for this band. When we went to college in different cities the band kinda fell apart. We later reconnected and because of a variety of factors (distance, changing tastes, wanting a challenge, etc) we decided to nix the rock thing and try writing pop for the first time. 

Pop. Pop is all encompassing! 

In no particular order: Genesis, Radiohead, Grimes, Fiona Apple, Gorillaz, Daft Punk, Pink Floyd, David Lynch, Tim and Eric, Electric Light Orchestra, The Beatles, and more. 

It’s got a little Yellow Magic Orchestra, a little Radiohead, maybe a little Phoenix? Think it combines a generally dancy energy with a dark strange mood. We like songs that do that. The lyrics are reflective of the album themes, exploring and playing with ideas of the self.
