1. Please introduce yourself and give us the backstory on how you got started.
I have had an Indian-American upbringing growing up in the Midwest, and seemingly destined for a medical career, (my parents wish). Yet, as serendipitous events often occur, the creative sirens called me to a vastly different path where I traded the sterile confines of a hospital ward for the inherently transient existence of a struggling artist! I decided to pursue my dreams and left the mid-west for Los Angeles with a mere $400 and in my secondhand car that already had over 300,000 miles. The change in location fueled my entrepreneurial spirit and I was able to find work in the film industry through an entry level production gig that let me to content development and eventually my own consulting company, Intrigue. That work led to several film and television shows where I helped to shape the music and score that inspired by musical aspirations which resulted in my forthcoming album “Lovesick” due out later in 2024. As a side note, I have another new song, “Temptation,” a New Order cover, that was released earlier this month.
2.How would you describe your music?
Indie alternative-rock musician influenced by the great rock of the 80’s and 90’s with a distinctive sound reminiscent of legendary new wave bands like New Order and contemporary post-punk bands like The Killers and 1975.
3. Who are your biggest influences?
The Cure, Depeche Mode, New Order, The Killers, The 1975, Imagine Dragons, U2.
4. What was the inspiration behind your current single?
This song is about the subtle deceptions people engage in just before they embark on a relationship. In the beginning, when attraction and rapport are at an all time high, one party (or both) may mask their intentions for the relationship as well as mask who they really are, but because we are not thinking properly we tend to ignore the red flags and plow ahead anyway. In the case of this particular individual (who the song was written about), I was a victim to this phenomena making me feel like a fool but learning a valuable lesson.
5. What would surprise people most about you?
I am an entrepreneur in all things and the CEO of two multi-million-dollar companies.
