1. Please introduce yourself and give us the backstory on how the band got started.

I’m Anna. Blair and I had been making music together for years but it was only in 2020 that we started Dead Pony. We wanted to make a sound that was modern but still influenced by some of our favourite artists and we came up with the genre Nu Rock. We knew Liam and Euan through mutual friends and knew they were great musicians so we asked them to join us too. 

2.How would you describe your music?

We like to say that if Nelly Furtado was the lead singer in Limp Bizkit. We take a lot of influence from Nu Metal and also early 00s pop artists. We felt we couldn’t really fit into an already existing genre so we have started calling it Nu Rock. 

3. Who are your biggest influences?

Paramore, The Prodigy, Limp Bizkit, Gwen Stefani, Nelly Furtado, Linkin Park, NERD, Queens Of The Stone Age. 

4. What was the inspiration behind your current single?

We were so sick of being ignored by people in our lives and by what felt like the entire music industry so we decided to write an album that was so good no one could ignore it. 

5. What would surprise people most about you?

We love chihuahuas and we want to adopt 3 band chihuahuas and take them on tour with us. Krumpus, Kimchi and Fang.
