1. Please introduce yourself and give us the backstory on how you got started.
What’s up my name is Jack Kays, I’ve been making music my whole life, and playing guitar for the past 12-13 years. Writing songs is my favorite thing in the world. I was born in Toledo, OH and raised in Cincinnati, a true mid-westerner.
2. How would you describe your music?
I would describe my music as a blend of folk music and punk music.
3. Who are your biggest influences?
My biggest influences are Bob Dylan, Nirvana, bands like Modern Baseball, Joyce Major, Hot Mulligan, Mom Jeans and Black Flag… you get the idea.
4. What was the inspiration behind your current single?
The current inspiration is the person I used to be, and deep down the person I still am, and the music I grew up around.
5. What would surprise people most about you?
Hmm… what’s a weird thing that I do that people don’t know… I’m a wind surfer! I used to work at Skyline Chili, shoutout Cincinnati.
