METALLICA Gives $100k to Seattle Non-Profits

Metallica finished the 2024 North American run of the M72 world tour over the weekend with two shows in Seattle, Washington.  With the help of the fans in attendance at Lumen Field, Metallica committed $100,000 to four organizations: Food Lifeline, Elizabeth Gregory Home, Jubilee Women’s Center, and Support+Feed. From the group's press release:  "Food Lifeline is on a mission to end hunger in Western Washington, providing nutritious food to 1.37 million people facing hunger. JAVE PATTERSON Joins South Carolina’s Active WTPT & Classic Rock WROG

AC/DC & DISTURBED Earn New RIAA Certifications

Back in Black is now 27x (!) platinum in the United States.  The RIAA issued the latest platinum certification for AC/DC's classic 1980 album on August 21, 2024.  The same day, the RIAA awarded an 8x platinum certification to Disturbed's "The Sound of Silence." Disturbed's cover of Simon & Garfunkel's 1964 ballad was released in 2015.

Boston's ROCK 92.9, along with Dave and Chuck the Freak, will be heard on 92.9 WBOS-FM HD2 106.1 FM, WRCA 1330 AM, and on the ROCK 92.9 App and stream.
